mmmode is currently operated by myself, "Scott Heappey". I am a senior UX/UI contractor with a fuelled addiction for new trends and techniques. My focus is to tell a story while meeting all business objectives in a user centric manner. For over 10 years I have been working with: UX/UI, quantitative and qualitative data collection, workshops, personas, ideation, storyboarding, prototyping/wireframing, user testing, implementation planning, user stories, user interface design, brand development, front-end development (HTML5, CSS3, SASS, Jquery), motion graphics, 3D, SEO, analytics, digital marketing, digital strategy, digital direction and project management.
I have experience working for award winning agencies such as Switch.I.T and Folk, where I had the privilege to work on high-end clients including all the major car manufacturers, several government agencies and various banking and mining institutions.
While working at Folk my largest project was a Global Learning system for Queensland schools after winning the pitch at the end of 2015. This project had over 60 page types and 4 key users (curators, creators, teachers and students) where I completed quantitative and qualitative data collection, workshops, personas, ideation, storyboarding, prototyping/wireframing, user testing, implementation planning, user stories, user interface design, brand development and front-end direction. I worked closely alongside the Department of Education and Training, Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and Readify.
Also in 2016, I completed all UI/UX and Front-end for Air Tickets (Australia’s market leading airfare distribution and ticketing services consolidator) for over 50 page types improving usability directly in the UI process. I am a rare case that can be trusted with such a project due to my user centered design background and strong technical know how.
During my time at Switch I had the pleasure of working on the UX/UI, front-end development, SEO and analytics for over 150 automotive sites for over 20 car manufacturers. We also completed sites for Kia, Rhino-Rack and Tyreright where the team was awarded several Sitecore Awards for responsive design.
During my time in Madrid I completed over 20 websites for several famous artists for EMI Music Spain. I worked in Spanish and learned enough back-end PHP to get by in Wordpress.
A typical day involved: quantitative and qualitative data collection, workshops, personas, ideation, storyboarding, prototyping/wireframing, user testing, implementation planning, user stories, user interface design, brand development, 3D visualisation and front-end direction while doing daily stand-ups with Motorola in Chicago via conference call.
My final year in 2006 was on scholarship where I completed a Brain Gene Ontology Visualisation project while working with the Knowledge Engineering Discovery Research Institute.
