After winning the pitch at the end of 2015 we were ready to work closely alongside the Department of Education and Training, Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and Readify. The project had 3 key users: curators/creators, teachers and students where we gathered quantitative data (from existing systems and resources) and qualitative data (from user interviews).
We ran several workshops where we defined personas, storyboards and flow diagrams in order to frame the project and align the marketing outcomes of the Commonwealth Games with the pedagogical needs of the users. I then wireframed over 60 page types ready for further analysis and user testing. This lead to refinements, implementation planning and the creation of user stories.

Above is the Curator/creator dashboard. This is a place where members of DET can create projects and manage content. It works as a quick entry point while displaying the status of current projects (active, complete, in progress and overdue).

The Teacher home page is similar to the Curator/creator dashboard as they can also create projects. They also have access to learning spaces designed to manage groups of students and recommend projects.

The Public home page prioritises news and events while integrating related projects. Learning spaces are not available as there are no student-teacher associations.

The Student home page displays the same as the public home page only it has access to learning spaces - giving them closer interaction with their teachers.

A requirement from the beginning was that the app had to be reusable for sites other than the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games as Readify owned the rights to the code. Since launch Readify have been able to resell a cloned/rethemed version to another entity.
